Accenta was born in 1987. Our first home was a 3,500 sqft manufacturing facility in Scarborough, Ontario. At the time the company carried only one product category; A-Line. This is the proprietary extrusion from which many of Accenta's current product lines are constructed. Much of what Accenta created in the early years was custom shelving and display cases out of the A-line extrusions.
In 1993 Accenta made the move to a 20,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Mississauga, Ontario. This was a big expansion and brought with it the onboarding of new products. A key product that was developed was the CD Flipper. This new product helped Accenta get its foot into the music retail environment and also represented Accenta's first step towards worldwide exporting.
In the year 2000, Accenta launched its Visual Impact division. The one and only product offered was the QuickFrame, which remains popular to this day. This was the first time that Accenta took its A-Line extrusion and used it to create a product that would be mass marketed.
In 2001, Accenta was the first company to introduce retractable banner stands in North America. The Roll-It-Up was the first product in its category. Since then, Accenta has regularly added to this line of products.
In 2002, Accenta launched its in-house large-format print shop. This division helped us expand the services that we could offer our clients and, allowed for greater consistency and control over workflow. This resulted in faster delivery times and higher quality printing for our clients.
In 2004, Accenta bought the rights to AdBox and became the sole distributor for this product. This was Accenta's first corrugated product.
In 2006, Accenta established a sales head office in Tampa, Florida. Between 2006 and 2011, we expanded our presence in the U.S. to include sales offices in Amherst, NY, New York, NY, and most recently in Los Angeles, CA.
The 2011-12 years flew by in moving trucks. These years represented the relocation of the U.S. corporate sales office to Amherst, New York as well as the relocation and expansion of the Canadian offices to our current 55,000 sq. ft. facilities in Mississauga, Ontario.
2013 was the launch year of the Accenta EuroStand. This is one of very few standard products that Accenta has introduced that is uniquely suited to the retail display market.
